PROJECT FOR AWESOME is back for a 3rd Year!!!

So the vlogbrothers John and Hank Green started this annual event on YouTube 2 years ago. Their viewers are known as the Nerdfighters and one of the goals they work towards with the Nerdfighters is to “decrease world suck” aka getting rid of all the horrible and terrible things that affect our world. So to put a real dent in that goal, they ask all of the Nerdfighters in the world to make a video promoting their favorite charity. Then they ask all of YouTube to go rate, comment, and favorite all the Project For Awesome videos. Even this is done right, when you check YouTube tomorrow the Most Viewed, Most Discussed, and Top Favorited pages should be plastered with videos with the above logo on it. And for the past two years it has been pretty sucessful at doing that. So throughout the day, I’ll be posting P4A vids below and check them out to help with the cause.You might not know it, but we’re all nerdfighters, so support the cause…

interRacials’s Last Minute Wish List

Yup in my absentmindedness it didn’t strike me that maybe I should do a post what I want to get this holiday season. For the past few years, I never actually thought about getting anything in particular (mostly cause there wasn’t much). But I’ll look really hard this year and make a list of what I kinda want. But yeah, with such a late post we really don’t care if we get these things or not. Also recheck this post in the next few days as I question Tyle and DJ about their wishlists. • Flip Mino HD Camcorder

Probably will shoot a lot more videos especially blogs if I had one of these. That or I really need a web cam on my laptop. But this one is just so much cooler.

• Pax Romana by Jonathan Hickman

Yep this is my attempt to get more books into my graphic novels collection, all because G4′s Blair Butler told me to buy this. Also it’s Hickman, HICKMAN!!!

• The Hangover DVD
  

Yeah, I’ve seen this movie like twice already, but I kinda want to own a copy of it. And you totally just got to own it just for the Zack Galifianakis parts.

• Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 Blaster

I swear, we need this for a video. It’s for a video! Don’t give me that look. But yeah an episode of Greek inspired me to have a Nerf Gun war and if you remember the last video we used a nerf gun in, let the hilarity begin. Also talk about shooting somebody’s eye out, look at that thing.

• Serenity DVD

Yep this is my favorite sci-fi movie of all time and I still don’t even own the DVD. Somebody should change that fact. Please, somebody, anybody? Hey Summer Glau is in it.

• Scribblenauts

This is the only game that would make me go through my mess of a room and try to find my nintendo DS again. What other game let’s you summon the Cthulhu and God and make them duke it out. Yeah couldn’t think of one could you?

• I Am America and (So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert

I keep forgetting that I need to buy this book. And it’s written by Sir Dr. Stephen T. Colbert D.F.A., man how did I know that you were suppose to write his name like that?

• All Time Low’s Nothing Personal

Another thing on this list that I want a hard copy of. There’s just something special of having the actual disk, though it does get all scratched up in like 10 plays.

• Black Lantern Ring

This proves just how much of a comic nerd I am now. Though it would’ve been cheaper if I just got the ring back when Blackest Night #1 came out, but I was lazy.

• Glee Season 1 Part1: Road to Sectionals DVD

This DVD came out really fast, but yeah my favorite new show of the year is now in DVD format, yay!

• A “Jason Mraz” Hat

To make me feel cool when I’m doing absolutely nothing. Though do I really want to be that laid back? Yeah, too deep to think about.

• Better Headphones

Yeah, updated on my twitter today that another pair of earbuds decided to die on me. I don’t think that buying more expensive headphones will make them last longer, but who knows. Man what does make them break all the time anyway?

• Mountain Dew

The gift that keeps on giving. Wait no, it’s just a really good drink.

• maybe an iPhone?

Like anyone would get me one, but it would be nice. Come on, you want one too. But then again if I could pick any phone I would probably get…

• Motorola DROID/DROID Phone in general

There is just something about go against the norm with a better phone. Screw you Apple! (sorry I just hated using Macs to edit my movies).

Locals Live Show #1: Opie

So yeah every Friday, I work on a show called Locals Live, that let local bands around Corvallis play their music to a televised audience. You won’t see me anywhere in the show, but you can watch my first time at cutting and fading between cameras and my name is at the end of the credits!

Battle of the Bands (Pre Vid)

I can tell a school year was good depending on how awesome Battle of the Bands is at the end of the year. This time it was no different. The music was loud, the bands were rocking, and by the end of it all, everyone was hyped!. Near the end of the school year here at Oregon State, we hold a day long concert called Battle of the Bands. Going into it my first year of college, I didn’t know what to expect, in high school the bands were just punk band wannabes, but at the concert it was so much better all around. What instantly got me was that year’s winners Honest to Empire. They still brought it this year as the headliners of Battle of the Bands. When they closed the show, the entire quad erupted and it was just fun. I didn’t get to check them out, but this year’s winner were Pseudoboss. My friend Michael’s band Target for Tomorrow got third place which is impressive. The lineup for this year was what brought down the show, as the good bands were placed at sporadic times instead of being the showcase at the end of the show. I got some poorly shot footage from the last 2 hours of the show, and my camera sadly croaked out during Honest to Empire. I’m going to compile this footage with tomorrow’s footage of the Shwayze concert on saturday, so stay tuned.

Welcome Home to Corvallis, wait is that GGW Bus!?

>I returned to my home away from home today after a long winter break. How dozed asleep and half listening to my mp3 player, I was in a car with both my parents driving to the local Safeway to buy some milk. Only to find sitting across from the local corvallis bookstore was a Girls Gone Wild bus. Now i thought it was pretty slutty when the Tempe 12 girls came to the campus with their airbrushed beauties in calender form, now I can only imagine how low its going to get at the local bars with this bus rolling in. How many of my female peers are going to end up on video tape drunk and flashing and how they are sooooooooooooo going to regret it later in life (most likely the next morning). But yeah that’s what campus life is all about, i think, maybe not. But yeah in sleazy commerical advertising form, look for your local OSU girls in the next installment of GGW (most likely its the blonde going whooooooooooooooo!).
