News Flash: 2009 Claims Another Celebrity, Lost Number One, and a Blizzard
Brittany Murphy Dies at Age 32
So yeah we couldn’t leave the year 2009 without losing another celebrity. This morning, actress Brittany Murphy was rushed to a hospital after her husband called 9-1-1 when Murphy suffered cardiac arrest. Sadly though, Murphy was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:04 AM. It is pretty unusal that someone as young as Brittany would suffer from a heart attack, and there is speculation of drugs being involved, but there isn’t nothing looked into this yet. Brittany Murphy is famous for the films Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Miles, Uptown Girls, and my personal favorite Sin City.
My Personal Bit – Why do you keep taking our celebrities 2009? Why? You cruel cruel beast of a year. What do you want from us? We already gave you MJ and Swayze. Yet, you crave more blood. January 1st can’t come soon enough you fiendish beast. We will surivive. WE WILL SURVIVE!

The Saints Lose to the Cowboys 24-17
The New Orleans Saints dreams of an undefeated season were crushed yesterday when they finally lost to the Cowboys at the Superdome. Ever since Hurricane Katrina, the Saints have become somewhat of America’s favorite team. This year they put together a really good team offensively and defensively. Drew Brees is one of the most underrated QB’s today and when he gets going, all of his passes will connect. But their “perfect” season has anything but, cept that one game against the Patriots, they have way too many close calls this year. It finally caught up with them as the Saints were taken down by DeMarcus Ware and the Cowboys D. But lose number one might not be so bad, most Saints players are relieved that that is out of the way and they concentrate on winning the rest of the season and dare they say it…Super Bowl? The Saints are still my pick to meet the Minnesota Vikings at the NFC Championship and head to the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile the Cowboys are fighting the Eagles for the NFC East title and if not trying to keep one of the wildcard spots. And there still is an undefeated team in the NFL, Peyton Manning and the Indianopolis Colts are sitting nicely with a bye and homefield advantage in the AFC playoffs. Also with just the Jets and the Bills on their schedule they could go undefeated pretty easily if nothing crazy happens.
Pregnant Soldiers Can Get Courtmarshalled
The U.S. general leading the campaign in Iraq has added pregnancy as a reason to courtmarshall any of his soldiers. The female who gets pregnant and the male soldier who impregnants her will be the ones in trouble and any civilian who ends up impregnating a female soldier can face criminal charages. An apparent reason behind this is to limit the amound of military force returning home for non-injury type reasons. Well I guess soldiers should keep it in their own pants, that or they can keep on TRYING NOT TO DIE OVER THERE.

Apparently there is a blizzard happening on the east coast, with record snowfall measurements. 16.4 inches fell in Washington D.C. and 20.5 fell in Baltimore. So far the casualties from the last 5 days have been at a low 5. So yeah, a little too much white christmas. And we’ll keep getting rain in Oregon, you know the ususal.

Star Wars COD Modern Warfare 1 Mod
Just the idea of it sounds amazing, but some guys in Denmark made an entire Tatooine map and you can play as either a Storm Trooper or Rebel Solider. There are various weapons that resemble a semiautomatic, sniper, and gernade launcher. The guns still look kind of weird and off center, but its still pretty nice looking for a mod.

9-9-09 Apple Day Wrapup
I’m a little late on this story, but yeah yesterday was Apple iPod announcement day. Though many applemaniacs were anxious for a new iproduct (Tablet! Tablet! Tablet!), it was just new versions of the current apple devices out with new tweaks.
iPod Touch
There is now a much larger 64 gig touch to go along with the current 32 and 8 gig ones. But besides the larger size, they still have yet to include a camera function like in the iPhone. They are however beginning to market the iPod Touch like a handheld gaming system and might begin to compete with DS and PSP. They already have 2 big name games on the way with Madden 09 and Assassin’s Creed 2. The app store is still the best handheld gaming store out of the three, so they might have a chance to compete
iPod Classic
Now up to 160 gigs, price remains the same.
iPod Nano
Strangley the Nano improved the most out of apple devices with its 5th Generation. Still with only the 8 and 16 gig models and multi color schemes, they have added a larger screen and a video camera to the back. So yeah they’re trying to steal sales from the Flip HD camera market, and depending on how good the video quality is I might just get one too.
iPod Shuffle
New colors and a major price drops for the 4 and 2 gig shuffles. Now down to $59 and $79 respectively
iTunes 9
Available for download today, it is mostly the same, the icons look different, supposively easier syncing with devices (cept the Palm Pre), iTunes LP which are a new kind of look to buying full CDs on iTunes, and Genius Mixes which is emulating internet radio with your playlist

Obama’s School Speech, Was Just a Speech?
OMG Obama is going to turn our kids socialist with his words! Turns out, not at all. Obama’s speech to the students of Wakefield High School in Arlington County was televised on C-SPAN today and most students in America watched. He spoke of staying in school and doing your best and just the basic thing any students is told to do in school, but this time the president is saying it. Conservatives just had a field day with this thinking that Obama would spread the wrong kind of message to their kids. But the speech has come and gone and there aren’t a bunch of newly brainwashed socialist running around, so yeah crisis averted i guess.
Teenager invents £23 Solar Panel Using Hair!
Milan Karki, an 18 year old teen from Nepal, just wanted to provide electricity for his rural village. The young inventor has replaced the expensive silicon conductors in solar panels with human hair. What Karki made isn’t anything more than a science fair project that can produce about 9V of electricity, but researchers could take this idea further and make cheaper solar panels to provide electricity to poor third world countries. So yeah give a kid a medal or something.
Luda Pulls an Oprah on Fans
Rapper Ludacris gave out 20 new cars to deserving fans after an essay contest talking about people’s struggles in a failing economy. He says he was taken back after reading thousands of essays. This was done in the Atlanta area through a partnership between The Ludacris Foundation (funny name) and Nissan South. So does this raise or lower his street cred?
New Game for the Dreamcast?
Actually yes, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Dreamcast, Redspotgames will release a new racer called Rush Rush Ralley Racing. You will be able to buy it for $22.10 on Amazon and eBay stores. And gamers will buy it, cause if you bought a Dreamcast, we know you never threw it out or sold it.
Beatles Not Coming to iTunes
After getting everyone’s hopes up with rumors that the entire Beatles catalog would be available for download on iTunes. Peter Kafka disagrees with these rumors. Tomorrow will mark two other definite Beatles releases on 9-9-09 with The Beatles: Rockband and a rerelease of the catalog on compact disk. Apple will however be announcing their new iPod lineup tomorrow and possibly other new products.

This is me being Mac biases again, but score for PCs! Charles Miller broke his previous record of 2 minutes, by being about to hack into a MacBook in 10 seconds at this year’s PWN2OWN contest. He won a $5000 prize and the same MacBook that he hacked into. Once again it proves that being a L33t hackzor is totally worth it.

Tiffany Shepherd was once a biology teacher in the Florida, but racy pictures of herself of just in a bikini surfaced and she was canned from her job. This was a few years ago and now she has lost custody of 2 of her 3 children to her exhusband and has sent out 2,500 resumes but to no avail of getting a new job. So yeah Cash 4 Gold totally rips people off by offering low cash amounts for gold that is worth a lot more. But this story is about Michele Liberis, a former employee of the company who posted an informative article about the truth of the company. Today Cash 4 Gold has sued her for defamation. This is obviously bullshit, since she is protected by free speech anyway, but who knows how it will go with a normal mom going against a sleezy company like that.

Now at 22, she is a recovering coke addict living with her mother and 2 kids in England. She admits to blowing around $500,000 on just cocaine alone. The rest she blew on new cars, houses for her family, designers clothes, and expensive trips around the world. She says the drug abuse hurt her the most and she has attempted to kill herself 3 times. This just proves the point that large sums of money changes people and maybe winning the lottery is as great as it sounds.

-Terminator Sarah Conner Chronicles might return as a straight-to-DVD movie to wrap up the story set up by the exciting cliffhanger of the last season (TSCC wasn’t renewed by Fox) (link)
-20th Century Fox wants to reboot the Fantastic Four movies, even though Disney owns Marvel, though the Fantastic Four are and always will be kinda lame heroes. Fox is able to do this because they still own the rights over the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil movie characters. (link)
