Sports Central: Jordan, Trojans vs Buckeyes, Bills vs Pats

With the NFL season kicking off last night with the Steelers/Titans game, football season is back in high gear. There’s also much to watch this weekend with many different sporting events, and I’m going to preview them all

Michael Jordan Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

The greatest player to play the game of basketball will get inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame today. He has won 5 NBA MVP awards and won the NBA Championship 6 times with the Chicago Bulls. He revolutionized dunking, hold records for points average, and was an incredible defenders. He is also known for his Air Jordan shoes which have grown into its own line of clothing. He is joined by David Robinson, John Stockton, Jerry Sloan, and Vivian Stringer.

College Football Big Game: #3 USC Trojans at #8 Ohio State Buckeyes

This is a championship caliber matchup and its only the second week of college football. The Buckeyes want revenge for their beating from USC last season while the Trojans want to make another run for the championship. USC is totally dominate in this one, their only weakness is having a freshman QB for the season. Buckeyes will have to really give it their all and then some to pull off a win in this one.

College Football Redemption Game: #18 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at MichiganWolverines

This would’ve been a good game 5 years ago, but both of these franchises are trying to get back to their former glory. Both coaches will definitely be fired if they don’t pull out a decent season ending in a bowl game this year, so the pressure is definitely on.

NFL Game of the Week: Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots-Monday Night

Tom Brady will be back from missing all of last season and Terrell Owens is on another team (can he stay on this one, we’ll never know). But yeah its going to be an air game with both teams having excellent wide receivers, Pats have Moss/Welker and Bills got Owens/Evans. But the Pats got the home field so they’ll probably win.

U.S. Open Championship Weekend

The last stop of the tennis grandslam tournaments is in New York. So far the men side is looking like another Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal matchup, though they’ll both have to get by their semifinal opponents (Nadal has to get past his quarterfinal opponent still since his game was delayed by rain). Women’s side is slightly more interesting with Serena Williams having to play Kim Clijsters (who just came out of retirement and is proving she still got it). Whoever wins that takes on the winner of the battle of the 19 year olds: Yanina Wickmayer vs Caroline Wozniacki (they’re 19 year old tennis players of course they’re hot, but they play pretty incredibly too).
