Double Crush Girl of the Week: Scarlett Johansson & Eliza Dushku

For some reason I’m feeling generous today and there will be not one, but two crush girls of the week. So lets get you aquainted with two of the hottest actresses in the business…

Scarlett Johansson

Not only is Scarlett hot, but she’s a really good actress and has a chameleon like ability to look like everything from the girl next door to a dutchess in Old England.

-Her birthday is on November 22nd

-Her parents are Karsten and Melanie Johansson, her father is Danish and her mother is Jewish, they are divorced now however

-She has an older sister Vanessa (also an actress), an older brother Adrian, a twin brother Hunter, and a younger stepbrother Christian

-She began her theater training when her mother enrolled her at the Professional Children School in Manhanttan

-She began acting in films as early as 9, in a movie with the late John Ritter in North

-Afterwards would show in a many other movies including Just Cause, If Lucy Fell, The Horse Whisperer; then a bunch of children films Manny & Lo, Home Alone 3 and even appeared in Mandy Moore’s Candy music video

-Her breakthrough role was in a movie called Ghost World about teens who go against the normal social order of high shcool

-By 2003 she moved to Oscar Level movies especially Lost in Translation with Bill Murray and Girl with a Pearl Earring

-A step down from those movies she did voice over work in the Spongebob Movie, and appeared in The Perfect Score, A Love Song for Bobby Long and In Good Company (so yeah she just jumping all over the place with her acting)

-You’re starting to the get the idea that she doesn’t slow down with a few more movies in the next 3 years…

Michael Bay’s The Island (bombed), Woody Allen’s Match Point (good movie, honor to work with Woody), The Black Dahlia, and back to back magician movies Scoop and The Prestige (sure loves to work with Hugh Jackman)

-She is the starring lady in Justin Timberlake’s music video for “What goes around…/…comes back around)

-She has released an album called Anywhere I Lay My Head, got mixed reviews from critics, she admits she can’t songwrite, but likes singing

-In the past years, she has returned back on top with The Other Boleyn Girl and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, though praised for her performances she has yet to win the Oscar, though Penelope Cruz her costar in Barcelona won one for it), she has recently showned up in comic book movie The Spirit and He’s Not That Into You (has just about every actor/actress in it)

-She has dated Josh Hartnett and been linked to many other famous stars, she has been married to comedian Ryan Reynolds for about a year now

-She’s been in the Top 10 on Maxim’s Hot 100 since 2006

-She is a democrat and campaigned for Obama (yay!)

-Has a cat named Trooper and a chihuahua named Maggie

-She has been nominated many times, but her highest award was Best Leading Actress BAFTA for Lost in Translation

Scarlett’s next role is playing Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Widow) in Iron Man 2 next year

Eliza Dushku

Eliza has shown up in movies we have all seen, so you have to have seen her in something. That or you’ve been living in a box or something.

-Her birthday in on December 30th

-Her parents are Philip and Judy Dushku, from her parents she is half Albanian and half Danish (hey just like the other crush girl today!), her parents divorced while she was still an infant though (sadness)

-Apparently her family are the only Dushkus in all of America (woooooooooooooooow)

-She has 3 older brothers Aaron, Benjamin, and Nathaniel (who’s a model and actor)

-She got a few roles as a child actor starting at the age of 10: That Night, This Boy’s Life (with a kid Leo DiCaprio), True Lies (Schwarzenegger/Jaime Lee Curtis movie), Bye,Bye, Love, and Race the Sun

-She then left acting to finish high school and then got accepted into George Washington University (good for her!)

-During college she joined the Whedonverse, by joining the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as her famous role of Faith

-She costarred with Kirsten Dunst in probably her most famous role as Missy in Bring It On (yeah, you know the movie with the cheerleaders in it)

-She was in the two comedies The New Guy and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back

-She went back to TV specifically Fox twice with the shows Tru Calling and Nurses (wasn’t broadcasted though)

-She also appeared in two music videos Simple Plan’s “I’m Just a Kid” and Nickelback’s “Rockstar”

-In a more nerddom move she has done voice acting fora few video games Yakuza, Saints Row2, and the main character of the new shooter Wet (September 15)

-Her only recurring role right now is back with Whedon on his show Dollhouse as the main character Echo, she also coproduces this show

-She is deadly afraid of flying and takes a religious artifact with her when she does so

-Her favorite color is black

-director Kevin Smith gave her the nickname Duck Shoot

Eliza’s next roles is a new season of Dollhouse this fall, and two movies: Valediction and The Perfect Moment coming 2010 and 2011
